About Us
After a devastating hurricane, our founders were brought together by fate and frustration. Some were impacted greatly, even suffering great losses that could have been prevented. Others were eager to lend a helping hand, noticing that many people felt the same and just did not know how they could actually make a difference. The need for an organization that could facilitate natural disaster relief services for the general public was clearly evident. Thus, Emergency Connect was formed. A non-profit service for both those in need and for those willing to contribute, partnered with local organizations and existing relief services in areas impacted by natural disasters.

Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Procedures
Make a Plan
It is important to formulate an emergency action plan in case of natural disasters and other unexpected circumstances. A practical and well rehearsed plan can help keep you and your family safe.
- With your family, identify the types of emergencies that are likely to occur in your area.
- Discuss the necessary responsibilities for each member of your household, and delegate appropriate roles amongst your group.
- Practice as many elements of your action plan as possible. We recommend doing so at least twice a year.
Assemble a Survival Kit
A readily accessible bag of essentials can mean all the difference during extreme situations. Use a reasonably large and comfortable to wear back-pack, if at all possible.
- A gallon of water can last three days for one person. Make sure you have enough ready-to-eat food.
- First Aid is an absolutely critical component of increased survival rates during a crisis. Vital prescription medications, sterile gloves and dressing, soap and rubbing-alcohol, and adhesive bandages, etc.
- The means to start a fire is a life-saving resource to have. Don't forget to pack a few disposable lighters or some matches!
Know the Situation
Delegate a role to someone specifically for gathering reliable information about your current situation. Trusted friends can really help you plan further course of action.
- Community centers
- Local radio stations
- Centers of government
- It's a good idea to have a close-friend designated as an emergency contact in a potential disaster situation. Set scheduled check-ins and try to connect at least once a day, at the same time.
- Most importantly, stay calm and be rational. Give yourself enough time to process all the variables before making crucial desicions.
